Who uses the Cancer Support Community Greater Miami?
Individuals with cancer who desire to improve the quality of their lives and fight for their recovery along with their physicians and healthcare team. Family and friends are also welcome to participate.
What does it cost to participate?
Nothing! The Cancer Support Community Greater Miami is a non-profit organization and does not charge for any of its services. We are supported solely by donations from individuals, corporations and private foundations.
Do people follow a specific program?
No. Participants may attend those parts of the program that they believe will help them improve their own well-being. Some may choose to simply visit the Cancer Support Community Greater Miami to connect with other patients or caregivers rather than be alone.
Are medical services or advice available at the Cancer Support Community Greater Miami?
No, we do not have a medical staff. Individuals seek their own treatment as they deem necessary.
Is the Cancer Support Community Greater Miami program an alternative to medical treatment?
No. Our program is meant to support the treatment prescribed by a patient's healthcare team and is not a substitute for traditional medical care.
How do I get started?
The first step to participate in our programs is to attend an Introductory Meeting. Introductory Meetings are informal drop-in sessions where people come to the Cancer Support Community Greater Miami and learn about our FREE cancer programs. Introductory Meetings take place each Monday at 6:00pm and Wednesday at 10:00am. No appointment necessary.
