Cancer Support Community Greater Miami (CSCGM) invites you to join the GUARDIANS OF HOPE – our multi-year Giving Society. ALL funds raised will enable us to continue to deliver our world-renown program of FREE emotional and social support services, to anyone living with cancer – the patient as well as their loved ones.

Since 2002, CSCGM has provided more than 27,000 patients and care givers, the highest quality of research-based FREE cancer support services in Miami-Dade County. However, with one in every two men, and one in every three women, diagnosed with cancer, the demand for our psychosocial services is unfortunately, greater than ever.

Additionally, our reputation, our outstanding programs, and our organization's name change from The Wellness Community to the Cancer Support Community in 2010, have given way to more oncology professional referrals and more cancer patients than ever before. We can not continue to SUSTAIN the overwhelming need for our services without your help.

CSCGM is poised to provide FREE programs and emotional support to cancer patients and their families in 2015. Locally, more than 10,000 people in Miami - Dade County will be diagnosed with some type of cancer. After their diagnosis, many will lose hope. Even surrounded by caring, loved ones, they will still feel alone with cancer.

Our FREE emotional support groups, workshops and educational programs are MAINTAINED 51 weeks a year – in Spanish, English and Creole – more than 1,200 programs annually, including:

• Weekly Support Groups in Spanish, English, and Creole
• Monthly Diagnosis Specific Networking Groups
• Pediatric Oncology Program – For children and teens with cancer and their families
• Educational Programs
• Exercise Classes & Interactive Nutritional Workshops
• Stress Management and Relaxation Groups
• Community Outreach to the Underserved and Underinsured
• Family Circle Program – For children of cancer patients
• Celebrations and Social Programs

At our home-like facility, cancer survivors find a network of people who know what it is like to fight cancer. Recognized as the world leader in psychosocial oncology, the CSCGM cancer care model is endorsed by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Thus we only provide programs that are based on scientific research and proven to enhance the possibility of a patient's recovery and their quality of life.

To ensure that our emotional services do not increase the burdens on those already dealing with life- threatening issues, as well as to make ourselves available to the greatest number of people, all services are always offered completely free of charge to all who enter our doors. Additionally, only licensed professionals, trained to deal with cancer patients, can facilitate support groups and workshops.

As a GUARDIAN OF HOPE, your pledge will ensure that we can accomplish our mission. These annual gifts can solidify long-term financial stability for our organization and make certain there is always a place for people to find HOPE.
